December 3 — Meeting Madrid
In the evening, we arrive in the Spanish capital. A transfer from the airport will take us to the hotel. After checking in, we set off to discover the city.
Madrid is especially beautiful after sunset. Warm streetlights illuminate the façades of palaces, squares fill with music and conversation, and the city seems to begin telling its stories.
We will spend our first evening in true Spanish style — with one of the best flamenco shows in Madrid. This is something to be felt: passion, pride, love and pain transformed into dance, music and voice.
The evening will continue with a magnificent fine-dining dinner.
December 4 — Spanish Baroque & the Treasures of the Prado
Breakfast at the hotel
In the morning, together with our guide, we will explore places that are often overlooked and not always found in guidebooks — corners that still preserve the history of how the modest fortress of Mayrit was transformed into the capital of a vast empire.
There are not many such places, which makes the route all the more fascinating.
We will admire façades, squares and churches, trying to understand the character of Spain through its architecture.
After lunch, we will visit one of the greatest museums in the world — the Prado Museum.
We will enjoy a very special guided tour exploring the hidden meanings behind masterpieces of world art.
Everything here is about people and their emotions, revealed through painting. Our guide to the human soul will be the works of Velázquez, Goya, Bosch, Rubens and El Greco.
Through their paintings, we will discover love and jealousy, vanity and ambition, fear and anger, temptation and the thirst for power.
And we will feel that these stories are ultimately about us — with our own desires, hopes and contradictions.
Dinner at a traditional Spanish restaurant.
December 5 — The History of Madrid Through the Centuries
Breakfast at the hotel
We will immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of the city, discovering its hidden corners and lesser-known stories.
Dark underground passages, gloomy monks, torture with red-hot iron, witches at the stake — these are the images that often come to mind when we hear about the Inquisition.
But was the Spanish Inquisition really the most terrifying in Europe?
We will discover what actually happened. We will walk through streets and squares that still remember the footsteps of the Grand Inquisitors and try to answer the question: were they really hunting witches — or was there something more behind it?
After lunch, we will visit places where time seems to have slowed down.
Not tourist decorations, but authentic taverns, pastry shops, workshops and family-run stores that have been operating for more than a century.
You will taste vermouth and the famous churros, see a historic clockmaker’s shop and discover the secrets of traditional Spanish fans.
December 6 — The Royal Palace of Madrid
Breakfast
We will dedicate the final day of our journey to one of the most impressive palaces in Europe — the Royal Palace of Madrid.
The luxurious ceremonial rooms, a rich history, paintings by Goya and magnificent views of the Madrid mountains — all of this awaits us at the Royal Palace.
As we admire its interiors, we will discover the unique features of its architecture and follow the historical journey of the palace.
We will meet the prominent representatives of the Bourbon dynasty and explore their collections of paintings, antiques and weapons.
In just two hours, we will discover the most important chapters in the history of the Spanish monarchy while enjoying the beauty and grandeur of the palace.
After the tour, we will have free time for a final stroll along our favorite streets, a cup of coffee on a sunny terrace, shopping and souvenirs.
And then — transfer to the airport and our journey home.
